Black Screenby Burney Developers

PRIVACY POLICY · UPDATED 13 OCTOBER 2026

Your data.
Clear choices.

This policy applies to the Black Screen Android app, package com.burneydevelopers.blackscreen2026, developed by Burney Developers. Contact: itazbdev@gmail.com.

Data that stays on your device

The app stores appearance settings, presets, schedules, usage history and Premium access state in local app storage. Camera videos, screen recordings and screenshots are saved locally. The app does not automatically upload captures, media playback metadata, notification content or your usage history to a developer server.

If you choose Share or Export, Android sends the selected file or text to the application you choose. That application handles it under its own policy. A feedback or problem report opens an email draft with the text you entered and basic device/app details; it is sent only if you send it in your email app.

Permissions and why they are used

  • Display over other apps: shows the black or dim overlay and optional floating control.
  • Camera: records camera video when you start recording from the visible app. Front/rear camera availability depends on device hardware.
  • Microphone: records optional microphone audio with camera or screen recording. It is requested only when an audio recording feature is used.
  • Screen capture: Android asks for consent for each screen capture session. Protected media may be excluded by Android or the content application.
  • Notifications: provides active-session Stop/Pause controls, alarms and optional reminders. Android also shows camera/microphone privacy indicators.
  • Notification access: optional access for media controls and notification counts. The app processes playback metadata/counts locally and does not send notification content to the developer.
  • Approximate location: optional, requested for weather and sun times as described below. There is no background-location permission.
  • Alarms, do not disturb, boot and sensors: optional schedules, reminders, DND synchronization, floating-button restoration and device-supported gestures. Android may restrict background starts.
  • Biometrics: optional overlay exit protection uses Android biometric authentication. The app does not receive fingerprint images or biometric templates.
  • Internet, network state and advertising ID: connected weather, Google ads, consent and Play purchases.

You can deny or revoke optional permissions in Android settings. The associated feature will be unavailable until permission is granted. Active recording and overlay services use visible notifications and end when you stop them or their timer ends.

Google Mobile Ads and consent

The app includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google User Messaging Platform for ads and consent. Depending on your region, consent choices and Google settings, these services may collect or share IP-derived approximate location, device or other identifiers (including advertising identifiers where available), ad interactions and other app interaction events, and diagnostic/performance information. Google uses these for advertising, measurement/analytics and fraud prevention/security. Some processing occurs even when ads are not personalized.

Consent forms and an Ad privacy choices entry appear when Google requires them. Premium suppresses ordinary ad placements; an optional rewarded ad can still be started by you to add Premium time. Your device’s advertising ID controls and Google privacy settings also affect ad processing.

See Google’s Privacy Policy and Google Mobile Ads data disclosure.

Optional weather and sun times

When you choose to load weather or enable sun scheduling, the app explains this use before requesting approximate location. It rounds latitude and longitude to one decimal place, representing an area of about 11 km at the equator, and sends that area to the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway) at api.met.no over HTTPS. It sends an app identification/contact string and MET receives the requesting device’s IP address. Precise location, recordings and notification data are not included in these requests.

The forecast and sun response are cached locally and fetched only in response to your use of these features. MET states that its API access logs include IP addresses and coordinates, are stored in its data center in Oslo, Norway, and IP addresses for its public weather services may be stored for up to 90 days. MET handles these records under its privacy policy.

Weather is a forecast for an approximate area and may be outdated or unavailable. Weather data is credited to MET Norway under CC BY 4.0. The app rounds temperatures, converts wind speed to km/h and shortens condition labels. MET Norway does not endorse Black Screen. Licensing and crediting.

Google Play purchases

Google Play Billing handles subscription checkout, payment information, billing renewals and cancellation. The app queries product details, active purchase information and purchase tokens to unlock and restore Premium, and acknowledges completed purchases. The app does not receive your payment card details and has no developer account registration or developer payment database. Google manages purchase records under its policies.

Subscriptions renew unless canceled through Google Play. Clearing app storage or uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. Manage it in Google Play subscriptions.

Retention, removal and privacy requests

Local settings and history remain until you clear app storage or uninstall. Delete individual captures in Library; exported copies remain in the destination you chose. Locally cached weather can also be removed by clearing app cache/storage. Captures in the app’s local files are removed by uninstalling; copies you saved or shared outside the app are controlled separately.

The developer does not have a server copy of your local recordings or preferences to delete. Data processed by Google, MET or another application follows that provider’s retention and removal controls. If you email support, the developer receives your message and the information you decide to include; contact itazbdev@gmail.com to request removal of support correspondence. We do not promise a fixed provider retention period beyond the provider’s published terms.

Security and international processing

Connected weather requests use HTTPS, and Google services use their own transport protections. Local files are protected by Android app storage and device controls; exported files can be accessible to the chosen destination. No storage or transmission method provides an absolute security guarantee. Google and MET may process data outside your country; MET identifies Norway for its API access logs.

Children and updates

Black Screen is a utility application and does not ask users to register an account or provide a date of birth. The app contains advertising and optional subscriptions. If you believe a child has sent personal information to support, contact the developer. This policy may be updated when app behavior or service providers change; the date on this page identifies the current version.
